Three Days, One Community: Our First Community Impact Programme

In September, Imole Aibana Foundation held its first Community Impact Programme in Abeokuta. Over three days we visited a children's home, ran a free medical outreach, and officially unveiled the Foundation. Each day was a small, practical step toward what we exist to do: bring light, through education, healthcare, and consistent support, to the communities around us.
This is a look back at those three days, and a thank you to everyone who made them possible.
Day One: Orphanage Outreach
We began at Stella Obasanjo Children's Home. Our team arrived with food items and household essentials, from bags of rice to cartons of provisions, and spent the morning unloading, setting up, and getting to know the staff who care for the children every day.
Donations matter, but so does simply showing up. Starting the programme here was deliberate: children are at the heart of the work we want to do, and we wanted our first act as a foundation to be one of care for them.
Day Two: Medical Outreach
On the second day we set up tents and tables and opened a free medical outreach to the community. Volunteer health workers carried out health screenings, offered consultations, and gave practical health advice to residents of all ages, many of whom don't have easy access to a clinic.
The turnout was a reminder of how much need there is for basic, preventive care, and how much a single day of free check-ups can mean to a family. We are grateful to every health worker and volunteer who gave their time.
Day Three: The Unveiling of Imole Aibana Foundation
The programme closed with the official unveiling of the Foundation, before community leaders, partners, friends, and residents. It was a day of speeches, celebration, and, most importantly, action.
As part of the ceremony, we presented school bags to students, a small investment in keeping children in school and ready to learn.
We also held an empowerment session for the aged and widows in the community, offering direct support to some of those who are too often overlooked.
Thank You
None of this happens without people. Thank you to our volunteers, our partners and sponsors, the staff of Stella Obasanjo Children's Home, the health workers who staffed the medical outreach, and every member of the community who came out to support us.
What's Next
This programme was a beginning, not a one-off. In the months ahead we will keep building on our work in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and community outreach.
